Job Description
An industry leading organisation is recruiting for a skilled Financial Accountant to take ownership of general ledger integrity statutory compliance and high-quality financial reporting. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional who combines analytical expertise with sound judgement and a drive for results.
Responsibilities:
Accurate Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Process recurring and non-recurring journals in line with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts (balance sheet and income statement).
- Analyse discrepancies investigate variances and collaborate across departments to resolve issues.
- Review income statement trends and provide clear explanations with corrective actions where required.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting aligned with company policies and statutory standards.
Compliance Management
- Prepare and submit VAT tax filings and statutory schedules in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Support internal and external audits respond to audit queries and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Maintain strict adherence to accounting standards financial regulations and internal controls.
Fixed Asset Management
- Prepare and review monthly depreciation journals.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
- Produce capital expenditure and asset lifecycle reports for management review
Routine Financial Tasks and Business Support
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Provide financial insights to support budgeting forecasting and cost control.
- Contribute to financial projects special analyses and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting Finance Management or a related field.
- 35 years experience in a similar accounting role.
- Proven experience managing statutory returns and audits.
- Strong working knowledge of D365 accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills with financial modelling capability.
- Solid understanding of taxation financial analysis and reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
