Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations at a large acute care hospital in Ocala Florida. This leadership role is responsible for the clinical operational and financial oversight of Surgical Services ensuring safe efficient and high-quality patient care.

The Nurse Manager will oversee perioperative nursing teams coordinate surgical workflows and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards while fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for daily operations across Surgical Services including Operating Room (OR) Pre-Op PACU and related perioperative areas

• Supervise mentor coach and evaluate nursing and support staff

• Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity

• Ensure compliance with state federal and accreditation requirements

• Monitor quality metrics and lead performance improvement initiatives

• Manage departmental budgets supply utilization and cost-control efforts

• Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

• Promote patient safety initiatives infection prevention and evidence-based practices

• Support staff education professional development and retention strategies

• Participate in strategic planning and service line growth initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida or compact state)

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

• Masters degree preferred

• 35 years of recent perioperative nursing experience

• Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience in Surgical Services

• Strong understanding of OR workflows regulatory standards and quality improvement processes

• Current BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
