Join a 500 bed full-service acute care hospital. This facility provides comprehensive cardiovascular services oncology orthopedics neurosciences minimally invasive and robotic surgery bariatric services womens health wound care and more. The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center Accredited Chest Pain Center and a designated Center of Excellence for specialty surgical services.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide skilled evidence-based therapy services to patients with communication cognitive and swallowing disorders. The SLP will play a vital role in improving patient independence and functional outcomes while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
This role offers a structured and supportive clinical environment that values professional judgment streamlined workflows and collaborative care coordination.
Responsibilities
Evaluate communication cognitive and swallowing abilities using standardized assessments structured tools and clinical observation.
Develop implement and adjust individualized treatment plans focused on communication clarity safe swallowing and functional progress.
Perform and interpret specialized swallowing assessments including Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) when applicable.
Document evaluations daily treatment notes progress reports and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner.
Educate patients and families regarding therapy goals safety strategies home programs and expected outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians nurses rehabilitation therapists and case managers to ensure coordinated care and smooth patient transitions.
Required Qualifications
Active State License as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience required.
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) strongly preferred.
