Your role:

As a Co-op Java Developer at Global Relay you will get the opportunity to learn valuable development skills using cutting edge technologies from highly skilled and professional peers. You will also be given the opportunity to contribute to the core technology and products.

This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the best Java developers in Halifax and apply your craft in an environment that encourages creative thinking and autonomy. Our developers think beyond a single component to build complete system solutions and work collaboratively with their peers including other Developers Testers DevOps and Product Management. Your responsibilities:

Work as part of an agile development team to write Java code for enterprise services
Write unit tests and integration tests for your code and collaborate with Test to develop test cases
Create technical documentation and detail design document
Collaborate with product owners on user story generation and refinement
Participate in knowledge sharing activities with colleagues

About you:

Recent or soon-to-be graduate from a Computer Science or related field with Co-Op experience
Course work or work experience with Java
Experience with any of the following is an asset:
- Agile development methodologies
- Test driven development
- Continuous integration systems
- Multi-threaded programming
- System scalability
- Service oriented architecture
- Network protocols such as HTTP TLS TCP
- Web services technology such as REST JSON or Thrift

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in accordance with provincial law. Salaries are displayed in the form of annual base salary but are paid out semi-monthly for the duration of employment.

Base salary range

$42000$66000 CAD
