Job Description
As a Security Guard - Unarmed Retail Patrolin Aberdeen MD you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas complete routine rounds and maintain a visible presence that can help to reduce security-related incidents. You will engage with guests and store teams through clear communication and customer service while reporting observations and responding to concerns. At Allied Universal you will work with a caring team that values agility reliability innovation teamwork and integrity.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients and store associates by following Allied Universal security-related procedures location-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floor areas stock areas entrances exits cart bays and the exterior perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Help to deter theft and other policy violations by maintaining a visible presence monitoring activity and reporting suspicious behavior or hazards to store management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond to incidents disturbances alarms and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner providing clear directions to patrons and assisting with de-escalation until additional help arrives.
- Complete detailed incident reports daily activity logs and patrol documentation; communicate observations and follow-up needs to management and/or law enforcement as directed by site procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
