Overview:
This position reports to the Materials Manager as part of the plants Supply Chain team and is responsible for managing finished goods inventory and ensuring all process for inbound and outbound freight are managed properly at the Marshall facility.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Review open sales orders and plan shipment based on product availability and customer request date
Prepare accurate shipping paperwork such as Bills of Lading Packing Slips and Customs forms
Adjust daily truck loading schedules shipping paperwork product tags etc. as needed
Prepare and issue weekly work schedules for blue collar team members factoring in vacations and other openings for overtime planning
Ensure proper number of wood reels get shipped with interplant duct orders
Process customer returns both systematically and physically
Review freight invoices and special freight charges for accuracy
Ensure proper use of system and physical locations for finished packages
Ensure compliance with cycle count policies and reconciliation of customer-owned inventory
Perform part number conversions and inventory true-ups as needed
Ensure proper handling of raw materials and finished goods for safety and to avoid product damage
Maintain accurate payroll in companys system
Ensure team compliance to all safety requirements including but not limited to use of personal protective equipment job-safe practices operation of mobile equipment plant safety policies etc.
Ensure team compliance to collective bargaining agreement
Perform disciplinary actions as appropriate
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
High degree of computer skills such as Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Practical working knowledge of applicable DOT regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a broad audience ranging from executives to blue collar team members
Self-managed work style with attention to details and understanding of manufacturing and business principles
Ability to motivate team members to accomplish tasks and goals
Qualifications:
At least three years experience in a demanding manufacturing or logistics environment is required
Demonstrated experience using computer to perform work is required
Demonstrated experience thinking strategically and creatively to solve problems and improve processes is required
A bachelors degree in Business or related field is preferred
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Fast-paced and hectic work environment where speed accuracy and multi-tasking is required routinely.
Regular electronic interaction with business leaders Inside and Outside Sales Representatives the corporate Supply Chain team the third-party logistics team and external dispatchers
Regular in-person interaction with Distribution Center team other plant team members and truck drivers
Job can require unexpected overtime depending on the daily needs and volume
