About the role

The E&C Lead for the Indian Subcontinent (ISC- which comprises our operations in India Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) is a pivotal strategic leadership role responsible not only for ensuring adherence to relevant laws regulations and internal policies but for shaping the longterm integrity and resilience of the business in one of Haleons most complex and highgrowth regions. They will be responsible for ensuring that the companys operations adhere to relevant compliance laws regulations internal policies and meets regulatory expectations. The role holder will serve as a critical advisor to the Operating Unit (OU) Lead Legal and senior management guiding strategic decisionmaking and embedding a forwardlooking culture of compliance that enables sustainable commercial success. This is a highimpact position at the core of protecting and strengthening Haleons reputation licence to operate and growth ambition across the ISC markets. This role holder will report to the Chief Compliance Officer.

Key responsibilities

The E&C lead for ISC will undertake the following:

Compliance strategy

  • Drive the implementation of the compliance strategy for the OU while reflecting (where necessary) local law specificities (obtaining input from local legal as necessary).

Policy implementation

  • Oversee and champion the implementation of compliance policies (Code of Conduct ABAC competition law privacy and sanctions) and procedures in the OU working with local legal to ensure they are in line with global standards. Ensure the OUs policy environment is both globally consistent and locally competitive enabling operational excellence while safeguarding Haleons strategic interests.

Risk assessment

  • Lead proactive forwardlooking risk assessments (in line with the ERM framework) that identify and anticipate emerging compliance risks in a rapidly evolving regulatory and sociopolitical landscape. Partner with senior leadership to provide actionable risk intelligence that helps shape enterpriselevel decisions for the region.

Training and awareness

  • Work with local legal to design and deliver targeted capabilitybuilding interventions equipping leaders and teams to make confident riskinformed decisions.

Monitoring and assurance

  • Drive a robust risk-based compliance monitoring system across the OU to proactively identify and prevent compliance violations. Conduct regular compliance monitoring and assurance activities to identify emerging issues and ensure adherence to compliance policies and procedures.

Investigations

  • Lead relevant compliance investigations in the OU and report findings to global investigation and local disciplinary committees. They will undertake root cause analysis to identify any systemic issues which should be addressed and will ensure the insights gained from these investigations are used to drive continual improvement in the global compliance program.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors degree in law or a related field.
  • 15 years proven regional experience in compliance legal company secretariat or internal control roles in a global healthcare or consumer goods organization.
  • Expert level understanding of regional healthcare industry regulations and international compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic business partner contributing to regional leadership discussions influencing strategic decisions and shaping the compliance and ethics landscape in support of longterm organisational success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence individuals at all levels of the organisation to work in accordance with Haleons values.
  • Cultural adaptability able to adapt translate and implement global Code and policies to ensure they resonate locally.
  • Able to leverage data analytics to enable compliance to be a proactive strategic and efficient partner to the business.
  • Strong leadership and strategic business partnering skills.
