Te kōwhiringa The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and capable Asphalt Plant Foreperson to join our Dunedin team. This is a key operational role supporting the safe efficient and reliable running of the Ammann Conti 140 asphalt plant.

You will work closely with the Asphalt Plant Supervisor and the wider regional leadership team to ensure production targets are met quality standards are maintained and the crew is supported day to day.

This is a full time permanent position with occasional overtime and weekend work as required by operational demands.

As a Foreperson youll organise plan and oversee production and operations to ensure that work is completed a high standard. You will:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities on-site including managing personnel equipment and materials.

• Ensure adherence to safety and compliance regulations fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

• Collaborate with project managers and clients to achieve project milestones and resolve issues.

• Monitor work progress and quality providing guidance and support to team member

You will bring with you Experience supervising teams or leading small crews (or readiness to step into a leadership role) within the construction or related industry. Youll easily be able to deal with unexpected events and provide direction to your team. Youll couple this with:

• Previous experience in asphalt manufacturing civil construction heavy industry or a similar operational environment
• Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude; trade qualifications are highly regarded

• A Class 2 drivers licence with a WTR endorsement will be highly regarded

• The ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected events whilst provide direction

• A flexible work approach as no two days are the same

• Organised and systematic approach to your working environment

• Effective communication skills youll be able to easily chat with your crew and engage with clients and senior managers
