English in written oral and verbalformat to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. |
Training Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Training as acquired in an approved phlebotomy training program or High School Diploma or equivalent |
Special Skills Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Computer skills. Basic computer literacy. Demonstrated competency in: -Performing pediatric phlebotomy procedures (heel stick finger stick venipuncture) -Knowledge of the various needle sizes as to gauge length and purpose -Knowledge of the types of evacuated tubes by color code the anticoagulants & additives present -Knowledge of the factors that influence the integrity of a blood specimen -Proper label application -Knowledge of why blood should not be drawn from a hematoma burned or scarred area or an arm adjacent to a mastectomy. |
