Job Description
The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham stresses excellence in research fostering the development of highly innovative research programs. Presently we are seeking applications for an Assistant Professor faculty position non-tenure non-tenure earning. The successful individual must have significant expertise in cardiac and cardiovascular biology. Candidates with expertise in experimental model systems for elucidating the underlying mechanism(s) of cardiac disease using state-of-the-art molecular and cellular techniques will be given the highest priority. The successful candidate will need to work independently and have a track record of working with and mentoring both post-doctoral fellows and clinicians. This position will serve in a critical capacity supporting the basic science laboratory and research programs of the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. This position will add value through contributions to NIH funded research and enhance the Departments research enterprise.

PhD (Science)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in biomedical research. Expertise in cell and molecular biology as well as immunology and genomics. Demonstrated success in securing research funding.
