Role Purpose
Support Maersks global security and business quality agenda by ensuring alignment between vessels and shore operations. Provide expert advice to uphold compliance with international and national regulations while fostering safe reliable and cost-effective ship management. Prepare the organization for growth by strengthening safety competence and operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Deputy Company Security Officer (DCSO) ensuring 24/7 operational security support.
Enable secure operations across FMT-managed vessels worldwide.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures to protect seafarers and vessels from maritime security threats including:
Piracy robbery theft and kidnap for ransom
Drug smuggling stowaways migrants/refugees
Terrorism vandalism and impacts of armed conflict
Advise on the practical implementation of security measures: armed guards escort vessels vessel hardening risk assessments and flag state compliance.
Contribute to procurement decisions for security services.
Participate in crisis management as required.
Required Skills
Technical: Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Operational: Ability to handle ad hoc vessel requests prioritize tasks and manage a dynamic workload.
Analytical: Critical and comprehensive thinking; strong planning and organizational skills.
