Social Worker/Foster Parent Social Worker (Dual role)

The Open Home Foundation (OHF) is a Christian Community Response and has a vision that every child and young person has the opportunity to grow up in a secure loving family and receive a depth of care which will bless them throughout their lives.
We are looking for someone who can work 40 hours across 2 roles a Social Worker role (25 hours per week) plus a Foster Parent Social Worker role (an additional 15 hours per week). We are looking for someone who shares our vision and is able to work closely with tamariki rangatahi whanau foster parents and the community in a strengths-based and culturally appropriate way that promotes family well-being/whanau mauri ora. Our office is located in Greymouth however the work is across the West Coast.
The successful person will have the following:
- A Social Work Qualification (at least 2 years of experience preferred)
- Registration with the NZSWRB or be eligible for registration
- Knowledge and experience of providing care services for tamariki and rangatahi
- Knowledge and experience in care and protection social work
- Knowledge of the legal context for tamariki in care
- Good knowledge of The Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 and its Family Court processes.
- A commitment to supporting OHF models of trauma informed care to tamariki and rangatahi
- An in-depth understanding of how the role recognizes the special relationship between Maori and Tauiwi and strong empathy with the organizations special character.
- A passion for: -
-Care and protection social work and trauma informed practice.
-Supporting Caregivers of tamariki and rangatahi. - Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills.
- A full New Zealand drivers license is essential.
- An alignment with the Open Home Foundations Christian Kaupapa.
- NZ child protection experience preferred.
The fulltime salary for this position is between $68038 to $102000 p.a. Kindly note the salary is based on experience.
