Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be responsible for leading the design and development of innovative cost-effective and energy-efficient electrical systems for HVAC projects. Salary:

• $100k - $160k (Can go up to $180k)

• Car allowance: $700

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Development:

• As an Electrical Design Engineer support project teams by identifying sales opportunities and helping develop proposals to close new contracts.

• Create detailed proposals including material and equipment pricing vendor/subcontractor quotes manpower estimates project phasing duration and customer RFP requirements.

General Responsibilities:

• Participate in meetings site walks and calls while maintaining clear communication between all project stakeholders.

• As an Electrical Design Engineer define project specifications by reviewing existing designs customer requirements and performance standards.

• Identify project phases and responsibilities ensuring on-time delivery of design documents product performance details and construction feasibility.

• Support team success by contributing to project deliverables and problem-solving initiatives.

Design and Procurement:

• As an Electrical Design Engineer generate and review engineering documents for completeness scope compliance and cost efficiency.

• Analyze cost comparisons and collaborate with construction teams to implement time and cost-saving practices.

• Ensure the timely delivery of technical data packages coordinating design completion dates with engineering and assisting project managers with delivery.

Construction Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and training across electrical trades.

• Participate in construction kick-off meetings and support the project manager in managing design changes and deviations.

• Recommend process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.

• Oversee project planning documents including coordinating procurement of electrical equipment technical materials and delivery scheduling.

• As an Electrical Design Engineer monitor project progress coordinating activities and resolving issues quickly to maintain the project schedule.

Project Close-Out:

• Oversee the translation of project red-line drawings to as-built construction documents.

• Ensure delivery of software backups and other digital project media to clients.

• Complete post-construction site-walk for project completion verification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline.

• 6 years of related project experience in electrical engineering.

• PE license preferred or must be willing to obtain a Texas PE license.

• Experience with electrical design for complex HVAC commercial and industrial projects.

• Ability to communicate with customers and stakeholders in a professional manner.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other tools such as AutoCAD.
