Basic Job Functions:
The Scale House Clerk is responsible for but not limited to the coordination and direct management of truck shipments for Nucor Steel Utah. Responsibilities will also include ensuring that deliveries occur in an efficient cost effective manner while meeting customer delivery requirements is essential. Communicate effectively between Sales Accounting Shipping Security Carriers Customers and additional management. The Scale House Clerk also prepares and maintains various daily monthly and yearly logs and reports. Safety is an important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be willing to cover shifts be called in on short notice and work overtime as required/needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiar with Carrier Point TMS Union Pacific Systems Tripware and EBS/Oracle systems
Knowledge of truck rail domestic and/or international shipping
Understanding of freight cost and basic freight calculations.
Understanding of and prior experience working with DOT guidelines and regulations
Prior experience working with carriers and customers
