Job Summary

Obtains and assists in securing right of way.

Draws up and processes staking sheets.

Lays out surveys and stakes line jobs.

Consults with Line Superintendents on all newly assigned the absence of the Line Superintendent consults with appropriate crew chief.

Summarizes construction units and retirement units as needed.

Performs underground locates as requested.

Assists in maintaining system maps.

Assigns account numbers to each new member as required. Assigns work order numbers to each new job as required.

Works with contractors and Blue Grass Energy warehouse personnel reviewing new construction staking sheets material tickets billing accuracy and job closeouts.

Performs work order procedures.

Assists with outages during emergencies as requested.

Checks monthly work orders as assigned.

Directs or relays complaints and information to the proper department.

Follows BGEnergy Safety Manual as well as BGEnergy policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to complete reports and other paperwork and perform mathematical calculations. Must have a thorough understanding of RUS & PSC regulations and National Electrical Safety Code. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license. Ability to effectively communicate with the public (verbal and written) is required. Reasoning and analyzing skills are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Required to pass a physical examination when employed. Must have sufficient health to perform the essential functions duties and responsibilities of the job.

Occasionally (1-33%) lifts up to 20 lbs.

Frequently (34-66%) lifts up to 10 lbs.

Occasionally (1-33%) pushes and pulls.

Occasionally (1-33%) bends/stoops squats kneels climbs balances twists and reaches

WORK CONDITIONS

Outside work under varying weather conditions. This position assists during emergencies as assigned. Management reserves the right to disqualify employees for this position who cannot reach their regular work location from their residence within a reasonable length of time. Walking on uneven terrain.
