Job Skills / Requirements
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include cost analysis projects maintaining the commission program accounting software project management external audit assistance and system or process improvements in the accounting area.
Primary Responsibilities of Senior Accountant:
- Calculate commission amounts earned on a monthly basis and for maintaining commission schedules. Send monthly reports to managers reflecting commission balances and assist salespersons and managers with questions about commissions and payouts. Assist in improvement of the process of calculating the same.
- Coordinate the quarterly physical inventory counts and reconcile results to general ledger including research of inventory variances.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations including but not limited to Inventory.
- Prepare and file monthly Sales & Use tax returns to multiple states accurately and timely.
- Review and reconcile various bills.
- Assist in the preparation of Journal Entries to complete month-end tasks.
- Cross train with the Accounting Manager to cover duties when out of the office.
- Assist in preparation of external annual audit work papers and the audit itself.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
- Communicate with co-workers branch managers and staffs clients and all other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
- Must be available to travel if required.
- Respond to Controllers as assigned with accurate and timely information and results to facilitate financial needs.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with the Per Mar Security Services internal/external customers (including but not limited to: current customers prospective customers clients vendors co-workers supervisors and management) in a mutually respectful manner regardless of race color religion gender national origin age disability veteran status sexual orientation and all other protected classes.
- Adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and compliance by acting lawfully ethically honestly and professionally in the performance of their jobs at all times as well as be in compliance with company policy and procedures as it relates to their job function.
- When appropriate inform customers of Per Mar Security Services of products and services and refer business to appropriate department.
- As this position develops the employee may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management.
- Assume responsibility for understanding and complying with Per Mar Security Services attendance expectations.
Requirements ofAccounting Specialist:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting and a strong knowledge of GAAP is required.
- Three years of experience required; audit experience highly preferred.
Preferred:
- CPA license
