Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a team of HSE experts. Each day you will make sure the team keeps developing capabilities and skills supporting the business in the implementation of policies practices and programs. You will also showcase your expertise by driving behavioral change and HSE learning within the organization.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Driving continuous improvement by implementing the Group HSE management system training and improvement programs and cultivates a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE; Assists the line managers and supervisors in their respective organization in understanding their obligations liabilities and requirements for role fulfillment as per local HSE law and ABB management requirements.
Oversees internal and external audits as well as HSE risk assessments conducted by the line management and ensures all necessary preventive measures against the identified hazards are implemented; Reports HSE performance and progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level HSE objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as required.
Raising awareness of and winning commitment to ABB Group sustainability targets; Participates in determining the annual budget for their own area of responsibility and is accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets.
Planning and executing HSE projects managing resources and reporting on goals and progress; Ensures that HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards processes guidelines and best practices.
Manages a team which includes Environmental Specialist and facility nurse (external employee)
Qualifications for the role
Bachelor degree PLUS minimum 8 years HSE experience with minimum 3 years of HSE manager experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 10 years related experience OR High School diploma/GED PLUS minimum 12 years related experience
Sound knowledge of OSHA and the state federal and local environmental regulations
The ability to manage complex issues and work in cross-functional teams
A collaborative solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
Skills in data base management systems MS Office
