Compensation and Retirement Manager - Hybrid Opportunity
This is a hybrid position based at our corporate office in Brentwood TN with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday.
Position Summary
The Compensation and Retirement Manager is responsible for the design administration governance and continuous improvement of the Companys compensation programs qualified and nonqualified retirement plans and equity/stock programs. This role ensures programs are competitive compliant scalable and aligned with the Companys Total Rewards philosophy and business strategy.
The role partners closely with Executive Leadership Finance Payroll Legal HR Business Partners and external vendors to deliver market-aligned compliant and data-driven compensation and retirement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation
- Manage annual compensation cycles including merit bonus and equity planning.
- Conduct market pricing and benchmarking using survey data (e.g. Mercer Radford Willis Towers Watson).
- Lead job architecture governance leveling and pay range administration.
- Perform compensation analyses including internal equity compression pay-for-performance alignment and promotional increases.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local pay transparency and pay equity regulations.
- Partner with Finance on budget modeling accruals and forecasting.
- Prepare materials and analytics for executive leadership and Compensation Committee as applicable.
Retirement (401(k) & Nonqualified Deferred Compensation Plans)
- Oversee administration of 401(k) plan including eligibility contributions match calculations compliance testing (ADP/ACP) Form 5500 coordination and annual audits.
- Serve as primary liaison with recordkeeper trustee investment advisor and ERISA counsel.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA IRS and Department of Labor requirements.
- Manage non-qualified deferred compensation (NQDC) plan administration including deferral elections distributions and 409A compliance.
- Coordinate participant communications and annual enrollment processes.
- Support Retirement Committee governance and reporting.
Equity & Stock Plan Administration
- Oversee administration of equity programs (RSUs stock options PSUs ESPP etc.).
- Partner with Legal and Finance on grant documentation insider trading compliance and SEC reporting requirements.
- Manage relationships with equity plan administrator/broker.
- Ensure accurate processing of grants vesting exercises releases and tax withholding.
- Coordinate with Payroll on equity income reporting and tax compliance.
- Assist in equity plan design strategy aligned to shareholder and executive compensation best practices.
Governance Compliance & Strategy
- Maintain plan documents policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA IRS regulations Section 409A SEC rules and other applicable laws.
- Participate in vendor RFPs contract negotiations and performance management.
- Identify automation and system integration opportunities across HRIS payroll and equity platforms.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency accuracy and employee experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Finance Business or related field.
- 7 years of progressive experience in compensation retirement plan administration and equity administration.
- Experience with public-company equity administration preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA IRS regulations Section 409A and compensation governance.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Experience with HRIS payroll systems and equity administration platforms (e.g. E*TRADE Fidelity Shareworks UBS).
- CCP CEBS or related certification preferred.
