Job Summary

About the role

The Mechanical Fitter performs a wide range of activities including the service and repair of Avery Dennisons machines equipment and facilities. This position is essential in supporting production teams by ensuring all equipment and facilities are in top working order to maintain operational efficiency and support increasing levels of site automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • This is an on-site role.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on manual and automated equipment replacing defective components and performing root-cause troubleshooting.
  • Execute preventative maintenance programs for all plant machinery including robotic systems and automated packaging lines to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Install and recalibrate functional parts in automated systems preparing new machines and sensors for production operation.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs for all facility activities utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track equipment performance.
  • Support the automation roadmap by assisting in the installation and repair of electrical power controls PLC-integrated systems and pneumatic components.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude within a highly automated manufacturing environment.
  • Technical knowledge of automated systems including familiarity with PLCs sensors and pneumatic/hydraulic controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics for both mechanical and automated electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex equipment malfunctions and improve system reliability.
  • Professional certification or relevant technical qualification (e.g. Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter apprenticeship or equivalent).
