Overview

Cypress Creek Renewables isseekingahighly motivated intern to helpmonitorthe daily operation of a rapidly growing portfolio ofutility-scalePV plants. The Control Center Intern will join our operator team to perform continuousreal-timemonitoring and control of Solar Facility performance energy yield and output. Over thesummerthe intern will be trained in the essential knowledge and skills necessary tomonitor and operateutility-scalesolar generation facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Completeinitialoperator training program designed to prepare candidates to independently perform remote monitoring and operation of solar facilities.
• Closely monitor the day-to-day operation of numerous 2MW to 100MW solar projects.
• Respond to DAS Alerts SCADA Alarms and abnormal facility conditions by alerting appropriate parties.
• Act aspointof contact for field technicians remote plant operators utilities and transmission operatorsregardingperformance control and schedules for solar facilities.
• Responsible for maintaining availability levels at each solar facility as well as following curtailment directives.
• Perform daily reporting of solar facility performance.
• Data analysis of underperforming systems.
• Aid field technicians with system troubleshooting and providing routine dispatch.

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience

• BS (in progress) in a technical field of study Engineering preferred
• Knowledge of power generation design or operations
• Knowledge of PV systems including DC systems AC medium voltage systems and network communications and monitoring.
• Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found via DAS/SCADA.
• Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
• Proficiencywith MS Office suite
• Experience working with a CMMS platform (preferably for power generation facility)
• Experience working with DAS and/or SCADA systems

Other Requirements/Work Environment

• Work is to be performed in an office environment.
• After the initialtraining phase this position will work 8 hour days Monday Friday. The schedule may vary with advanced noticeetc. depending on needs.
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to obtain unescorted accessforNERC/CIP facilities

Locations: The preferred location for this role is Durham NC.

Compensation: The hourly rate for our undergraduate internships is $25/hr. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors including a candidates qualifications skills competencies and experience and location.
