Job Summary
The Systems Analyst I helps in the evaluation of client area application systems/programming requirements and processes (e.g. new enhancements or maintenance) in the preparation of application system specifications and in the development testing and implementation of efficient cost effective application solutions.
Responsibilities
1. Works with client management to identify and specify the business requirements and processes for diverse development platforms computing environments (e.g. host based distributed systems client server) software hardware technologies and tools etc.
2. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems/program design and develops system specifications and procedures.
3. Recommends the equipment/platform needed for its solution and prepares logic flow charts and machine instructions.
4. Formulates logical statements of business requirements and with some guidance devises tests and implements efficient cost effective application program solutions (e.g. codes and/or reuses existing codes through the use of program development software alternatives and/or integrates purchased solutions).
5. Devises data verification methods and standard systems procedures and participates in systems testing.
6. May provide assistance and training to lower level Analysts or Programmers.
7. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 2-3 years of experience preferred in systems analysis and application program development; less will be considered depending on background and skillset.
