About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key operational role within Ruahs Corporate Services team reporting to the Facilities & Asset Manager. The role supports the safe compliant and effective maintenance of Ruahs property portfolio through strong contractor oversight site-based supervision and quality assurance of works.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on and organised professional who supervises reactive planned and capital maintenance activities audits contractor performance and ensures health safety and safeguarding standards are consistently upheld across Ruah sites. This role plays an important part in strengthening on-site presence improving contractor accountability and supporting delivery of the 10-Year Maintenance Plan.

By working closely with internal teams and external contractors the Maintenance Supervisor helps ensure facilities remain safe compliant and fit for purpose enabling services to focus on delivering positive outcomes for clients.

This is a full-time permanent position working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday. The position is based at Ruahs Northbridge office with regular travel across metropolitan sites as required.

What were looking for

The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in a maintenance building or trade-based supervisory role.
  • Proven experience supervising coordinating and auditing contractor works.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Experience managing reactive and planned maintenance activities across multiple sites.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors and internal stakeholders.

The following criteria are considered desirable:

  • A trade qualification or relevant qualification in Building Construction Facilities Management or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting capital works refurbishments or asset renewal programs.
  • Experience working within a community services health or not-for-profit environment.
