Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pre-Op / PACU unit is responsible for evaluating patients assisting physicians and delivering comprehensive nursing care throughout the preoperative and post-anesthesia recovery phases.
This role requires strong clinical judgment telemetry expertise and the ability to manage patients in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan implement and document nursing care based on patient needs
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care
Develop and coordinate individualized care plans
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions
Monitor patients during pre-op preparation and post-anesthesia recovery
Provide continuous telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Manage patient care in alignment with clinical priorities and acuity
Document care per established standards of practice
Support evidence-based practice and innovation in care delivery
Deliver patient-centered care consistent with professional nursing models
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 recent years of:
Critical Care
Pre-Op
PACU / Recovery experience
Strong Telemetry background
Telemetry Certification required
EPIC charting experience
Preferred Experience
3 years of PACU experience
Education Requirements
ASN Required
BSN Preferred
Required Certifications & Licensure
Active New Jersey RN License or Multi-State Compact License
BLS (AHA)
ACLS (AHA)
PALS
Telemetry Certification
