Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support manufacturing and operations teams in process improvement assembly operations and documentation management. This internship provides hands-on experience in optimizing production processes and maintaining manufacturing documentation.
*This internship will work in American Rheinmetalls Auburn Hills MI office and may support in our Plymouth MI office at times.
Essential Functions:
- Support process improvement initiatives and assembly operations
- Develop maintain and improve manufacturing documentation such as work instructions and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Assist in coordinating cross-departmental projects and help implement new manufacturing processes.
- Analyze production data and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practices in production and process development.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibility
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint).
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Education & Experience
- Pursuing a bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
Background Prerequisites:
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check employment verification reference checks physical and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clear and effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience with researching topics
- Previous employment with a focus on team-work
