Right now we are looking for Material Planner and Coordinator in our Sheet Metal Shop to join our teams working aboard ship vessels and in the shop.

This position provides support to the material planning and controls function. Prepares and monitors requisitions and material requisitions with production schedules Creates and generates reports on material plans and schedules. Monitors & tracks shops metal stowage racks. Makes sure material is readily available for production contact with Warehouse Purchasing and supervisors as necessary Writes store orders & monitors materials. Is responsible for material and metal stowage (racks) within the shop. Tracks and sends out shop tools or equipment required for recalibration.
Perform advanced and emergency material planning estimating and acquiring of maintenance material in support of BAE Systems Ship Repair Sheet Metal Department.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education Experience & Skills
Must have experience in material planning estimating and purchasing of various types of materials to support US Navy maintenance. Must be able to read decipher and evaluate US Navy drawing and standards. Must be able to identify proper materials by type and class including Mil-Spec requirements along with locating approved vendors to procure materials. Able to produce build and assessing excel spread sheets utilize Cognos Cost Point Microsoft Word and be familiar with excel based electronic data base systems. Must be able to work with little instruction on daily routine work general instruction for new introduced assignments. Must have ability to regularly preform mathematical reasoning. Communications include regular requirements to use written and oral communication skills; interact with coworkers and supervisors. Must be able to understand and discern assess charts grafts and reports and /or other forms of written or graphical communication. Must be able to accomplish movement of light to moderately heavy objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects from one position to another. Must have a substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skill to complete a wide range of task. Works with little instruction on daily work
Preferred Education Experience & Skills
3 plus years of experience in material planning purchasing and/or logistics for materials in support of mechanical fabrication construction or repair operations. Familiar with US Navy or Coast Guard vessels. Experience in production operations and purchasing materials for operational support. Sheet Metal experience is desired.
Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) which will determine your wages.Required Experience:
