Payroll Tech is on a mission to build fully integrated payroll systems to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all Amazonians. The aim is to build a near-touchless processing ecosystem that automates payroll operations across several countries. To accomplish the mission we are looking for a passionate SDE with deep technical expertise excellent leadership skills and ability to hit the ground running.
In this role you will be the technical leader responsible for service design development and operations. You will brainstorm new ideas and work on forward looking architectures and design with other Senior Software Engineers. You will architect analyze design develop test and deploy software features and fix defects. You will participate and lead in sprint planning and daily scrum break down technical work identify technical blockers and navigate solutions. You will also mentor junior team members. You will partner with your managers other technical leaders across the org to achieve a desired technical consensus. You will author docs to communicate vision proposals and designs.
Key job responsibilities
You will:
1. Work with the customers in the Payroll space to understand and disambiguate their problems
2. Help in identifying the solution to our customers problems
3. Design high-level and low-level application application architecture to to address functional and non-functional requirements
4. Coding and reviewing code of your peers to implement the solution
5. Write automated unit test cases
6. Deliver the solution to production using the best Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment patterns
About the team
Payroll Tech acts as tech partner to Amazon Payroll organization and is developing first of its kind 1P systems to streamline payroll processing and provide excellent pay experience to Amazonians. The 2-pizza team you would join will be focussed on building systems to track and monitor that Amazonians are getting paid on-time accurately and in compliance with the regulations applicable to the country/state.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
