Job Summary

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high quality integrated growth servicing planning by collating and validating growth data conducting analysis and producing growth forecasts and intelligence to inform strategic decision making.

What you will be doing

  • Undertake detailed spatial analyses to produce growth forecasts and market intelligence for Sydney Water planning and investment decisions.
  • Analyse and interpret data from a range of sources including planning proposals development applications market intelligence land use rezoning and government strategies/plans to produce meaningful intelligence.
  • Manage and maintain GIS datasets to ensure data accuracy and consistency using a range of spatial and data management tools.
  • Monitor external trends in population policy urban form growth and economic development and their impact on growth planning.
  • Participate in government and stakeholder engagement to promote Sydney Waters strategic direction on liveability affordability and resilience for customers and communities in line with strategy.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Spatial/Geographical Information Systems Spatial Science Urban Planning Geography or related discipline) or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Proven experience in the preparation of spatial and graphical outputs using GIS platforms statistical tools spreadsheets and data visualisation and/or transformation tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of urban planning processes development servicing and growth intelligence with the ability to apply this understanding directly to growth forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues trends drivers and links to customer/ regulatory needs.
