The Peel Compton Foundation owns and operates the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden Compton Gardens & Arboretum Coler Mountain Bike Preserve and Osage Park. The uniting mission for these diverse properties is to connect the community through nature education recreation and preservation. The Peel Compton Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.About the Position:You will join a professional team as a member of the archery instructor staff and help drive operational excellence by creating a safe and fun environment for all visitors to the range. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the Quiver. *** Paid on the job training *** Candidates must be available to work weekends. General Responsibilities:- Instruct visitors in proper shooting skills and techniques safety skills and range etiquette. keeping safety as top priority.
- Strictly enforce all safety guidelines and monitor for the proper use of equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service assist visitors answer questions and maintain a positive range experience. Elevate questions and complaints as appropriate to range manager.
- Staff the check-in area and small merchandise store utilize POS system assist visitors with creating profiles and reserving lanes.
- Assist in range upkeep such as sweeping cleaning restrooms and emptying trash cans.
- Inspect maintain and repair a variety of archery equipment including compound and recurve bows arrows and targets. Training is provided.
- Target Maintenance and repair must be able to lift large targets
- Use of tools such as drills hammers saws & general operational equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Operations:- Ability to stand for many hours work in all-types of weather such as wet extreme cold hot humid and sunny conditions. Perform manual labor including lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent public speaking and customer service skills required. Ability to work with all ages and genders of archers with a professional attitude.
- The Quiver Archery Range is open Wednesday Sunday. This position is required to work weekends evenings and some holidays. Schedule may vary due to weather daylight and special events.
Who we are seeking:- Archery experience is preferred.
- Must have an interest in archery.
- Must have or be willing and able to obtain a USA Archery Level 2 certification. Training and certification to be provided.
- Must be a quick learner and willing to maintain flexibility with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A creative and optimistic individual with a passion for the sport of archery and a strong enjoyment of working with people.
- High school graduate/GED is required. Additional education is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
