This position is based on our site in Uppsala where Thermo Fisher develops manufactures and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergies asthma and autoimmune diseases. System Engineer
We are offering an opportunity for a System Engineer to join our Instruments Engineering team in Uppsala. The Instruments Engineering team is a highly dedicated team with a wide variety of knowledge spanning from electrical and mechanical engineering to verification assay software and more. The team holds the overall design responsibility for all our Phadia instruments more precisely the Phadia 200 Phadia 250 Phadia 1000 and the Phadia 2500 Series In-Vitro diagnostics instruments.
As a System Engineer you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of our advanced systems. Your experience in mixed technologies and a system view of products will significantly contribute to the success of our sophisticated products on the market.
Please note that the role can be slightly altered based on the experience and skillset of the applicant. Particular importance will be given to personal attributes and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
Become part of the of the team that holds the formal and technical design responsibility for all our Phadia instruments.
Be an active member and contribute to our multi-functional product care forum and be highly involved from a technical aspect in investigations test and verifications of upgrades and modifications of our instruments to ensure functionality and performance meet the highest standards
Collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external partners in several global locations.
Perform and support technical investigations tests and verifications of various types related to our instruments.
Lead and/or support relevant CAPA investigations
In relevant cases lead and/or support complaint investigations related to named instruments.
Offer technical assistance to individuals and organizations both within and outside of the company.
Requirements
Masters degree in Electronics Engineering Biotechnology or a similar relevant background.
Minimum a few years experience from working with sophisticated products consisting of software mechanical and electrical interfaces preferably with In-Vitro diagnostics instruments and/or other types of medical devices.
Preferably experience from product development projects of similar product types.
Team player with ability to work in a global environment with multiple interfaces and people with various proficiencies
Strong written and verbal communications.
Good English skills are crucial since communication interfaces for this role are global.
