Reporting to the Senior Director Allied Health and Support Services the Senior Manager Rehabilitation and Recreation provides strategic and operational leadership for Recreation Restorative Care Physiotherapy Occupational Therapy and Social Work services across LongTerm Care Homes and Retirement Communities. The role is accountable for advancing evidencebased residentcentred rehabilitation and psychosocial care that supports function independence safety wellbeing and quality of life.
The Director leads the development implementation and ongoing evaluation of professional standards best practices quality improvement initiatives policies programs and procedures across all rehabilitation restorative and recreation disciplines. This includes ensuring integrated interdisciplinary approaches to restorative and rehabilitative care that optimize resident outcomes and align with regulatory and organizational priorities.
As a senior operational leader the Director works collaboratively with interprofessional teams operational leaders and key stakeholders to drive consistency clinical excellence and continuous improvement. Through mentorship consultation and the application of evidenceinformed practice the role supports highquality care delivery and contributes to the organizations vision of becoming the leading provider of seniors care and services in Canada.

Key responsibilities include:
Provide strategic leadership for rehabilitation recreation restorative care and psychosocial services in partnership with longterm care leaders and home homes to advance quality safety and resident experience priorities.
Collaborate with clinical operational and regional leaders to establish integrated evidenceinformed practice frameworks aligned with professional standards and regulatory requirements across Alberta Ontario and Manitoba.
Champion personcentred models of care that support resident dignity autonomy functional ability emotional wellbeing meaningful engagement and quality of life.
Partner with homes and corporate teams to strengthen quality safety and risk management practices through shared oversight learning and continuous improvement.
Promote an outcomesfocused approach to safety that balances risk management with resident choice rights selfdetermination and traumainformed practice.
Support clinical and operational leadership through strategic program development coaching mentorship and practice consultation.
Provide enterpriselevel guidance on policy ethical practice and regulatory interpretation across rehabilitation recreation and psychosocial disciplines.
Enable consistency and scalability by codeveloping standardized processes supporting admissions care transitions and discharges.
Foster a collaborative just and learningoriented culture grounded in accountability interdisciplinary teamwork and resident and family voice.
Support accreditation and quality assurance activities through shared responsibility for sustained regulatory compliance.
Leverage quality safety and resident experience data to inform collective decisionmaking and systemlevel service improvement.
What were looking for:
A regulated health care professional holding an active registration and maintaining good standing with the relevant provincial regulatory authority is required.
Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience overseeing the delivery of regulated allied health services within a healthcare setting including Social Work Recreation Restorative Care Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy; long term care (LTC) experience is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in strategic leadership integration and performance oversight of interdisciplinary allied health programs supporting resident quality of life psychosocial wellbeing and functional outcomes.
Proven experience leading quality improvement initiatives applying quality safety and experience data to drive systemlevel improvement.
Strong knowledge of legislative regulatory and professional practice frameworks governing allied health services in longterm care.
Demonstrated data literacy with the ability to interpret and apply clinical quality and operational indicators.
Proficiency in health information systems (e.g. PointClickCare provincial repositories) and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams regulators and system partners with strong interpersonal facilitation and conflictresolution skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to resident and familycentered care fostering positive organizational culture and service excellence.
Ability to undertake frequent provincial and national travel.
Working Conditions
Regular business travel will be required across Ontario Manitoba Alberta and Markham Head office on occasion.
