Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Night Patrol in Newport News VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more. Join Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location as an armed patrol officer monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help identify and reduce security-related concerns. You will conduct routine rounds maintain a visible presence respond to incidents and document observations while delivering clear communication and customer service. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees contractors drivers and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures post orders and access requirements at an industrial location.
- Conduct regular and random armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings production areas parking lots and perimeter points looking for conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property loss.
- Respond to incidents alarms and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner coordinating with site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
- Monitor entry and exit points verify identification and/or authorization manage visitor check-in and document deliveries and contractor activity in accordance with site policies.
- Complete detailed incident reports patrol logs and shift documentation escalating maintenance concerns hazards and/or policy issues through the established chain of command.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
