About the role

Nouryon Polymer Specialties is the worlds leading producer of organic peroxides metal alkyls and organometallic specialtiesessential components for the polymer industry. As sustainability becomes increasingly vital we are dedicated to discovering innovative ways to create a greener future. Our efforts include developing sustainable solutions for our products and their applications in polymer manufacturing.

As a Research Manager you will lead a team of 6-10 researchers responsible for supporting the core business as well as driving new developments exploring new products and processes which are used as catalyst systems for the production of polyolefins.

Your responsibilities as Research Manager will include

  • Co-develop the business/RD&I strategy; translating the RD&I strategy into tactical and operational plans and budgets
  • Deliver new products and processes within the area of complex metal organics and metal alkyls
  • Support the core business through plant and customer support
  • Collaborating with the global Technology group and global Nouryon metal alkyl production sites
  • Attracting leading coaching appraising and developing teams driving workforce planning according to business and RD&I strategy
  • Driving engagement and managing talent development and succession planning
  • Mentoring training and coaching colleagues to build knowledge and expertise

We believe you bring

At least 5 years of industrial experience in relevant area; additional experience in polymer chemistry/catalysis is a strong advantage.

A PhD in Organometallic or Organic Chemistry

  • Experience with leading a team of researchers
  • Strong experience in collaborating with (commercial) business partners

Great if you have

Experience in project management

  • Apermanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months
  • A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 116000 and EUR 140.000
  • 30 vacation days

Good to know

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis based in Deventer The Netherlands with a travel component of under 10% to the US and this role you report to the VP R&D Polymer Specialties.
