- $60000 annual Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
- 40 hours per week
- This position will work onsite the Grand Forks ND campus.
- Position to start: March 2026
Purpose of Position
To provide Aerospace Physiology Training to General Aviation Corporate Commercial and Collegiate pilots in a functional interactive and safe manner using classroom lectures and practical application lab lessons.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Proctor and grade collegiate examinations:
- Proctor and grade examinations as directed.
- Update scores completed labs quizzes and messaging students of curriculum changes.
- Classroom set-up prescheduling equipment and supplies classroom tear-down printing name tags generating course certificates maintaining schedule on Outlook adding/deleting classes/events and scheduling students for all contract activities.
- Altitude chamber preparation and maintenance:
- Preflight inspection cleanliness of equipment name tag set-up pre/post flight oxygen regulators training aids altimeter calibration and set-up and oximeter preparation and battery replacement.
- Performs periodic altitude chamber and subsystem inspections following established inspection guidelines maintains valves remove and replaces oxygen regulators communication boxes and instruments.
- General Aviation Trainer student instruction device operation and device inspection & maintenance:
- Preflight inspection and set-up of equipment performing periodic inspections using established guidelines instructing students on equipment operation demonstrations & training outcomes replacing batteries/filters/canisters as required student training documentation.
- Classroom instructional duties for General Aviation Corporate Commercial and Collegiate students:
- Researching subject matter through observing classes and available resources updating and personalizing PowerPoint presentations effective use of classroom equipment and computers and classroom preparation.
- Altitude chamber flight operator and inside/outside observer-instructor duties:
- Maintain and preflight personal equipment inspection documentation use of oxygen regulators and communication boxes duties during demonstrations leveling/bouncing altitude chamber hand signals and emergency procedure and evacuation familiarization.
- Student mask size selection mask fitment preflight & postflight inspection of student oxygen equipment performing repairs and documenting of damaged oxygen equipment.
- Observation of students spotting reactors treatment of trapped & evolved gas problems treatment of hypoxia and hyperventilation cases.
- Vacuum pump operation and maintenance. & oxygen equipment inspection and maintenance:
- Preflight of vacuum pump vacuum pump and air compressor operation vacuum pump operational documentation. Perform periodic inspection of vacuum pump and subsystems using established guidelines oil and oil filter changes and non-routine repairs.
- Oxygen equipment periodic inspections and disassembly using established guidelines accepted cleaning practices and documentation of all maintenance activities.
Required Competencies

- Willingness to lecture to large groups.
- Demonstrated proficiency with mitigation of emergency medical conditions in a confined space.
- Willingness to participate as a high-altitude inside observer for Hypobaric Chamber Flights.
- Proven proficiency in working in a team environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree in health care physiology anatomy aviation or related field.
- Experience with use and inspection of medical and/or aviation oxygen equipment.
- CPR qualified.
- Experience with Emergency Medical Service Operations.
- 5 years experience teaching in a medical paramedic anatomical or pathophysiological capacity.
- Experience working with Hazardous Materials (preferably high-pressure gasses).
- Proficient with PowerPoint.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

- Air Force Instructor or Civilian-Equivalent Instructor Training.

- CPR and ACLS Instructor qualified.
- Experience with full curriculum development.
- Experience working with 100% Aviators or Medical Breathing Oxygen and related safety measures.
- Advanced Medical Care experience and/or training.
