Key Responsibilities

• Grid Automation Domain Activity in the field of protection relays for Transmission & distribution control systems SCADA- SCMS.
• Main responsibilities include technical activity for application support L2 Customer support
• Prequalification launch of our products & solutions. Competitor mapping & NPI planning.
• Technical Marketing - ITO coordination with sales & tendering team.
• Obsoletion Management. Coordination with After sales/ support team.
• Internal expertise development for other cross functions.
• Site visits & testing as required for any major event / troubleshooting.
• Technical Marketing creation of opportunities based on installed base and market information.
• Provide technical support to clients in the region e.g. technical queries developing customized solutions supporting scheme engineering analyzing field performance etc. Job requires complete testing of protection relays automation systems in GEV lab and also in live substations.
• Key role in product launches presentations discussions spec-in activities exhibitions site trials etc. through Marketing. Implement actions necessary for product approvals based on regional strategy and priorities
• Take the lead in investigating and resolving product problems reported when requested by customers (L2). Support local actions required for resolution of major non-quality issues
• Support Tendering team - Study customers technical & commercial requirements. Support Management during contract negotiation
• Improve awareness of GA solutions. Obtain competitor data market share volume etc. Track evolving customer specifications & requirements.
• Be aware of product obsoletions new product availability etc. and provide appropriate customer support in line with regional strategy. Keep track of firmware upgrades changes in product features etc. and participate in necessary local actions. Support customers vis-à-vis product literature needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent power systems engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in commissioning or applications of Protection & Control products applications or engineering projects in Grid Automation field as well as site experience in conventional and digital control systems (PSA).
• Extensive experience in GE or equivalent non-GE Protection & Automation products.
• Site Testing & commissioning experience is mandatory to conduct various deep analysis demonstrations & sample installations.
• Experience in Utilities Industrial/O&G Applications (motors generators feeders transformers ATS schemes).
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% as required.
• Knowledge & experience in protection relays substation automation transformer monitoring & diagnostics switchgear substations power plants industrial plants & power systems.

• -Strong site experience with advanced automation applications Cyber Security.
• Professional experience with customers in major utilities/ other Middle East countries with key regional utility and oil & gas customers EPCs OEMs and system integrators. Testing & Commissioning experience with EHV utility. renewables will be an added advantage.
• Working experience with O&G MV applications will be definitely advantage for this profile.
