JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans organizes and directs the day to day routine operations of clinic/patient care and administrative activities of Rehab Therapy services. Performs other related duties as required. Assists in planning administering and monitoring the Rehab Therapy capital equipment operations and personnel budgets to ensure compliance with fiscal constraints and established standards and regulations. Prepares operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies as required. Manages the administration of the program and supervises the interdisciplinary care team. Regularly meets with and communicates operational changes to staff to ensure they are aware of information that may affect their work. Seeks input and recommendations from staff on ways to improve operations. Participates in developing departmental goals and objectives. Analyzes departmental strengths weaknesses opportunities and constraints. Supervises staff and manages employee performance. Provides on-going performance feedback addresses problems orients and trains employees verifies and documents competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Projects staffing needs interviews and hires employees. Monitors workflow. Identifies recommends implements and evaluates the provision of new procedures or services. Establishes revises administers and communicates policies procedures and related forms in accordance with state federal and organizational guidelines. Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory licensing and accreditation standards. Oversees and coordinates quality assurance activities; establishes quality measures and standards monitors departmental performance in relation to established standards and takes corrective action to prevent or reduce problems or errors to improve procedures. Determines the impact of changes on departmental/section services or programs. Provides and coordinates the resources needed within the department to provide optimal outcomes. Demonstrates advanced practitioner knowledge and skills in their discipline by providing limited patient care services. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends practices and developments. Establishes and meets goals related to elevating the level of clinical practice staff development and education. Maintains program records pertaining to operations and procedures to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations. Prepares operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies as required. Interacts with and establishes collegial relationships with other members of the healthcare team. Serves as a resource of advanced clinical knowledge in a particular specialty. Coordinates the orientation program for new staff. Coordinates the competency training for the department... Promotes continuing education for staff and provides opportunities for professional development. Serves as a resource to medical staff students other allied health professionals and support staff concerning the operations of Rehab Therapy. Assists in interpreting the applicable policies. Evaluates staff educational needs based on clinical populations and situations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited program for physical therapy occupational therapy or speech-language pathology. Five years of clinical experience including three in a management/supervisory role. Current licensure as a Speech Pathologist Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia.
