Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Under the direction of the ExecutiveDirector of Pupil Personnel Services and in conjunction with the building Principal the ETL will beresponsible for implementing and managing effective compliant and cost-efficient special educationservices for in district students grades 3-5 as well as students attending out of district placements asassigned. Work with outside agencies parents and caregivers to manage the special education referral andeligibility process including chairing team meetings (annual initial reevaluation and progress update) Ensure IEPs meet all regulatory and district standards are written to reflect best practice reflect highquality programming and are implemented with integrity Work with building-based teams to develop and implement efficient and effective service deliverymodels reflecting best practice Manage complex and challenging cases by maintaining effective parent staff advocate and outsideevaluator contact Identify and request authorization from the Executive Director for any service not provided by SaugusPublic Schools Plan for and contribute to effective transitions for students and their families Work with other ETLs and Executive Director to insure consistency cohesion and coordination ofpractices across the district Provide teachers with consultation regarding program modifications behavior contracts and FBAs Consult with special education and regular education teachers regarding special education and at-riskstudents Observe and monitor the progress of students in assigned out of district placements Establish special ed teacher and paraprofessional schedules and caseloads with buildingadministration Coordinate and confer with all outside agencies working with students (DCF DMH DMR counselingagencies hospitals courts and other service provision agencies) Confer with administration regularly (regarding student/staff issues program planning anddevelopment program evaluation) Inform & meet with staff regularly of district/state policy change timelines and deadlines Attend trainings and conferences. Complete various indicators for DESE as assigned by the Executive Director Work closely and collaboratively with staff parents and advocates regarding service delivery andprogram options including home/hospital tutoring where appropriateOrganizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Works under supervision of and is responsible tothe Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services.
