Job Summary

The Academic Interventionist is responsible for providing researched based interventions to identified students.

  • Implements scientific- based research strategies to enable students to develop the competencies and skills to be successful students.
  • Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior required to achieve effective participation in all activities.
  • Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of the schools math/reading content standards. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons units and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students.
  • Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Develops and delivers lesson plans appropriate to the needs and abilities of assigned students.
  • Evaluates academic growth of students and maintains appropriate records.
  • Communicates regularly with school level personnel.
  • Coaching and supporting teachers in all elements of instruction (Lower School)
  • Performing lesson observations and providing specific and actionable feedback for improvement (Lower School)
  • Vetting lesson plans ensuring alignment with school curriculum and providing other curricular guidance as needed (Lower School)
  • Modeling lessons for teachers (Lower School)
  • Other responsibilities as reasonably necessary in operation of OPS or otherwise requested by the School Directors.

Job Qualifications
