Job Description Summary

The Oncology Nurse Educator provides hands-on training in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration central line care symptom management and infusion safety practices. Collaborates with nursing leadership physicians and interprofessional team members to support staff competency orientation continuing education and quality improvement initiatives. Develops implements and evaluates comprehensive orientation programs for new oncology infusion nurses and ancillary staff. Serves as a content expert for oncology infusion best practices emerging therapies and new technologies. Mentors and coaches staff toward career advancement certification (e.g. OCN TCTCN) and engagement in professional organizations.

Job Description

$4000 sign on bonus for ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) Certified Nurses & OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

Both out of state and/or in state qualify

Not available for internal hires

The ONS Certification needs to be obtained prior to signing offer letter.

$2000 sign on bonus for Non-Certified Nurses

Both out of state and/or in state qualify

Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required. Masters degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred.

Minimum Experience: Minimum three years of applied clinical experience as an RN. Masters Degree in Nursing may be substituted for 1 year of required experience.

Licensure/Certification: Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state required. Relevant certification required within one year of hire (e.g. OCN TCTCN etc.). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Other certifications may be required to maintain employment for a respective department.
