Job Description Summary:

The Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology will provide subspecialty interventional radiology services in a tertiary care academic medical center. This role includes delivering evidence based patient centered image guided procedures and consultation across a broad range of conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support high quality patient outcomes. The position supports a 100 percent interventional radiology practice and includes opportunities for education clinical research and academic engagement. The faculty member will practice within an academic department that supports interventional radiology services across a broad range of clinical areas.

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide subspecialty interventional radiology procedures and consultation delivering evidence based image guided care across a broad range of conditions.

  • Perform image guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including oncology interventions complex venous and arterial interventions portal hypertension procedures and womens health interventions.

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans including appropriate follow up and coordination of care.

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of procedures and patient encounters to support continuity of care and billing requirements.

  • Utilize advanced imaging and interventional technologies to support clinical care and innovation.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including oncology transplant vascular surgery hepatology trauma and surgical services to support patient care and treatment planning.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences departmental meetings seminars and faculty activities as permitted by clinical and academic responsibilities.

  • Instruct and mentor medical students residents and fellows in clinical and educational settings; provide coaching appropriate to the learners level and evaluate learner performance.

  • Engage in scholarly activity clinical research and quality improvement efforts aligned with the missions of the Department.

Required Qualifications:

Education:MD or DO (or equivalent).

  • This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements institutional standards of academic and professional excellence alignment with peer institution benchmarks and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • ABR board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • ABR CAQ certified/eligible in Interventional Radiology.

  • Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri.

Work Experience:

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Interventional Radiology fellowship.
