Job Summary

Care Practitioner Day Shifts. Birkdale Tower Care Home

  • £13.56 per hour
  • 44 hours per week
  • Shifts: 8am-8pm
  • Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship

Birkdale Tower Care Home situated in the heart of Birkdale Southport is a beautifully restored landmark known for its luxurious environment and exceptional personcentred care. As part of the Sandstone Care Group we are committed to creating a warm supportive and homely atmosphere for every resident.

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated care practitioners to join our Days team and help us continue delivering outstanding care.

As a Care Practitioner on Days your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering personcentred care in line with individual care plans and residents’ personal preferences
  • Supporting with all aspects of personal care including washing dressing oral care continence support and grooming
  • Assisting with mobility using appropriate equipment (hoists stand aids wheelchairs) and following safe moving & handling practices
  • Helping residents with daily living activities such as meals hydration social engagement and maintaining routines
  • Promoting independence encouraging residents to do as much as they safely can and supporting confidence-building
  • Building positive relationships with residents families and colleagues to create a warm supportive environment
  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing including observing changes in physical or emotional health and reporting promptly to nurses or senior staff
  • Maintaining accurate detailed care records including electronic documentation and daily notes
  • Supporting meaningful activities both onetoone and group-based to enhance wellbeing and quality of life
  • Following safeguarding health & safety and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe home environment
  • Working collaboratively with the wider care clinical and housekeeping teams to ensure excellent overall care
  • Ensuring dignity compassion and respect in every interaction

What are we looking for

We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience in a care environment whether in residential care home care or healthcare support. If you have experience supporting people with personal care mobility dementia or daily living activities — we want to hear from you.

However experience isn’t everything. If you don’t have a care background but you have:

  • A genuine passion for helping others
  • A strong desire to work in the care sector
  • A naturally warm patient and empathetic approach
  • The motivation to learn and develop new skills
