Job Summary
Were looking to add a handful of high-impact engineers to our this role you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality cost effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers primary point of technical contact for your projects. Then once the design is completed and approved you will hand-off the project to our Ops Engineering team who will oversee the installation and commissioning of the project. Youll support that team to ensure that the system youve designed is successfully installed commissioned and launched.
Your projects may include green-fields brown-fields and retrofits including highly automated fulfillment centers cross-dock facilities and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch.
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact high visibility projects; you will grow.
About the team
The Advanced Concept Team operates on the leading edge of fulfillment design. We operate in a highly ambiguous space and leverage advanced technologies to create system level concepts that transform Amazons Logistics network.
- 5 years of design & innovation research & development work experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent
- Experience with design & innovation and research & development
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel MS Project and CAD software
- 5 years of specialty (with progressive responsibility) experience
- Knowledge of concepts like system architecture optimization system dynamics system analysis statistical analysis reliability analysis electronic system design and decision making
- Masters degree in Engineering (any domain) Operations Business Administration or a related field
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment packaging technologies and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with design-in-safety

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
