Braillist (1:1 Support AdHa)

Location: SeaTac WA

Duration: 19 Weeks

Hours: 8:00 AM 3:30 PM

Pay rate: $32/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Braillist for a 19-week contract assignment at River Ridge Elementary School. This is a 1:1 student support role (AdHa) providing specialized braille services and direct instructional assistance to a visually impaired student.

The Braillist will work closely with classroom teachers special education staff and support teams to ensure instructional materials are accessible and that the student receives appropriate academic and classroom support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 braille support to assigned student

• Transcribe instructional materials into braille as needed

• Assist with classroom instruction and assignments

• Support implementation of IEP accommodations and goals

• Collaborate with teachers and special education staff

• Maintain accurate documentation and student progress updates

• Promote student independence and accessibility within the classroom

Qualifications

• Experience as a Braillist or working with visually impaired students required

• Knowledge of braille transcription standards

• Familiarity with IEP processes and accommodations preferred

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Meets district and state compliance requirements
