Position Description:
The Department of Child and Family Studies in the USF College of Behavioral and Community Sciences is seeking a tenured Associate-Full Professor in a 12-month position to serve as a Program Director and faculty member for its Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (CRMHC)program. The CRMHC Program is housed within the Department of Child and Family Studiesin theCollege of Behavioral and Community Sciencesat USF. It offers a comprehensive suite of CACREP-accredited graduate and undergraduate programs including:
Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Master of Arts in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling
Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Sciences (fully online)
Anundergraduate minor and undergraduate certificate in Addiction and Substance Abuse
These programs prepare students to becomeLicensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and/or Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs) with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice interdisciplinary collaboration and service to individuals with disabilities and mental health needs.
The University of South Florida (USF) College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS) also proudly houses the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce (FCBHW) which stands in service to the state. CBCS also houses a University Center for Developmental Disabilities and will be the future home of a research center in substance abuse and mental health research to be funded by the state of Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide academic and operational leadership for all CRMHC program offerings including graduate undergraduate and certificate programs.
Lead overall program development including strategic planning innovation and growth.
Ensure compliance with CACREP accreditation standards and oversee program assessment and continuous improvement.
Supervise faculty staff graduate assistants and student workers.
Mentor junior faculty and support faculty development.
Manage program budget and resources effectively.
Oversee and support marketing admissions and student recruitment efforts across all program areas.
Serve as a liaison to the department chair college leadership community partners and state and national stakeholders.
Teach graduate-level courses and advise students.
Maintain a strong record of research publication and external funding.
Support student success through programmatic initiatives licensure preparation and recruitment strategies.
Coordinate with other programs within the Department of Child and Family Study and the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision Rehabilitation or a closely related field and meets CACREP core faculty eligibility requirements.
Experience in leadership or administration in higher education settings.
Possession of or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) status within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program.
Record of scholarly productivity and external research funding consistent with appointment at the associate or full professor level at a R1 university.
Current or previous Principal Investigator for externally funded research or training grant.
Evidence of teaching excellence at the graduate level.
Experience mentoring faculty and graduate students.
Strong record of interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with CACREP-accredited programs and accreditation process.
Experience coordinating a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Rehabilitation Counseling or similar graduate program.
Experience coordinating an online masters program.
