The Software Product Management focus specializes in designing developing and managing activities for a specific hardware or software product or group of products from product definition and planning through production release and end of life. Serves as the central resource with design process manufacturing test quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution.
Designs develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production release and end of life. Serves as the central resource with design process manufacturing test quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a products lifecycle including modifications upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
Independently design and develop web-based tools that enables exploration of electronic health record concepts (ICD codes SNOMED concepts medications)
Build and iterate on features for navigating hierarchical clinical code relationships supporting phenotype definition workflows used by both internal researchers and pharmaceutical partners
Creates interactive views for prevalence and incidence metrics that support data quality assessment across datasets
Develop cross-vocabulary mapping visualizations that enable validation of mappings between ICD SNOMED and other clinical terminologies
Ensures tool integrations with existing infrastructure function reliably for end users
Demonstrates ability to bridge technical implementation with diverse research needs.
Gather and synthesize requirements from pharmaceutical partner analysts
Translate complex often loosely defined research needs into concrete actionable software development items with clear technical specifications
Navigate the challenges of supporting users with varying levels of technical and clinical informatics expertise across multiple organizations
Iterate on tool features based on user feedback balancing partner-specific requests with broader usability for the FinnGen research community
Communicate technical constraints and design trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in an accessible manner
Contextual understanding that amplifies technical contributions.
Demonstrate applied understanding of electronic health record data structures clinical coding hierarchies and how they are used in biobank-scale genetic research
EHRBrowser directly supports FinnGens phenotyping pipeline which underpins genome-wide association studies across hundreds of disease endpoints
Tool outputs are used by pharmaceutical partners in their evaluation of FinnGen data for drug target discovery and validation
Contributes to data quality infrastructure by making temporal trends and coding patterns visible and explorable enabling researchers to identify anomalies or shifts in registry data
