The Department of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering of the University of South Florida (USF) invites applications for faculty positions at the assistant and associate professor level. Highly qualified candidates from all areas of electrical and computer engineering are encouraged to apply; preferred areas include: Computer Architectures; AI and Neuromorphic Computing; Multicore Processors and Parallel Programming; Distributed Computing; Hardware software co-design; Reconfigurable and adaptive computing; Quantum Computing and Communications; Nanoelectronics and Semiconductors; System on a Chip; Hardware Security; Packaging and Heterogeneous Integration; Analog Digital Mixed-signal CMOS/SiGe RFIC Design; Microwave/mm-wave Circuits; ; 6G and THz Systems; Power Amplifiers; III-VI MMIC;ac machines drives; power electronics; power system protection and communication. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by December 15 2025.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at USF has 25 tenure-track/tenured faculty members and 3 professors of instruction hailing from some of the finest institutions in the country. Among these faculty we have NSF CAREER Award winners Fellows of the IEEE AAAS AIMBE and Distinguished University serve in national leadership roles in technical societies such as the IEEE and have industry experience to complement their academic backgrounds. This diversity in our faculty enriches the learning experiences of our students. The Department of Electrical Engineering offers B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees and serves approximately 500 undergraduate students 70 M.S. students and 70 Ph.D. faculty are active in research areas spanning machine learning applications in IoT computer vision wireless communications nano/microfabrication RF MEMS and ICs radar wireless and microwave systems renewable energy source integration and smart grid automation cybersecurity data analytics systems and control theory robotics electronic materials for sensors and energy applications and collaborations withCyberFlorida theInstitute of Applied Engineering andMoffitt Cancer Centerare part of the departments growing research research expenditures for the last five years are approx. $5.0 million per year.



Responsibilities

An application package should include a cover letter curriculum vitae a research statement describing recent accomplishments and future plans a teaching statement summarizing past teaching experience and describing teaching philosophy and the names and contact information of at least three references (one of which must be the current immediate supervisor of the applicant). Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching academic research and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful applicants are expected to conduct research and teach in areas across the electrical and computer engineering disciplines. Successful candidates must be committed to the academic success of students broadening participation in engineering and support collaborations with areas of excellence across the university and beyond. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated excellence in scholarly research and publications the strong potential for sustaining an externally funded research program and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates should have completed or be near completion of a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates for senior ranks at the Associate Professor level must have demonstrated exceptional capabilities in externally funded research instruction and mentoring of students.
