JOB DUTIES
- Review Real Estate Indexes in the Register of Deeds offices.
- Examine various public records either online or at the county courthouse.
- Determine ownership liens and encumbrances.
- Obtain copies of required documents.
- Create a five-year chain of title.
- Enter information into NDOTs proprietary software program.
- Assist ROW Designers Appraisers and Negotiators in understanding recorded real estate documents.
- Perform occasional title research for the Attorney Generals office and other state agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Education and/or experience in real estate appraisal or valuation relocation assistance property management public relations public policy mediation or public/business administration.
Preferred Qualifications:Three years experience in title research and/or real estate law and practices
Registered Abstracter and/or Title Insurance license.
Other:
- Must have a valid drivers license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Knowledge of real estate terminology and practices.
- Knowledge of Certificates of Title and/or Real Estate Title Commitments.
- Basic computer and word processing skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
