As a member of the Supply Chain team the Inventory Analyst I is responsible for supporting daily supply planning material flow and basic data analysis activities. This role requires strong attention to detail good analytical abilities and effective communication skills. The Inventory Analyst I works closely with operations purchasing and receiving to ensure timely material availability and accurate reporting that supports overall supply chain efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Monitor material requirements and support daily supply planning activities.
- Assist in ensuring timely availability of raw materials packaging or components required for production.
- Identify supply or material discrepancies and assist in basic root cause analysis.
- Support developing and updating Material Requirement Planning (MRP) parameters (Reconcile Inventory).
- Assist with SOP creation for supply chain workflows and material processes.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to supply planning procurement and material accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of ERP or MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle JDE preferred).
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify supply discrepancies.
- Basic analytical skills including ability to interpret data and create simple reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas sorting/filtering PivotTables a plus).
- Good communication skills for interacting with internal teams.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Credentials & Experience Required:
- 12 years of experience in supply chain procurement inventory control or related operations preferred.
- Valid Tennessee drivers license and insurable driving record may be required.
- Some positions may require ability to lift up to 2550 pounds and perform basic warehouse tasks as needed.
- Forklift operation experience required (or ability to become certified).
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree preferred in Supply Chain Management Business Logistics Industrial Engineering or related fields.
