Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend orientation session to the course.
- Deliver content area expertise.
- Attend periodic clinical faculty meetings.
- Perform clinical site visits as assigned. Initial visits will occur before mid-semester.
- Interface with clinical preceptor as JCNs representative and liaison encouraging communication and clinical professional relationships between clinical preceptor and the Jefferson College of Nursing.
- Provide a narrative summary of site visits to course faculty and Chair with important/salient points about the students progress in clinical and the preceptors impression of the student.
- Provide weekly evaluative feedback to students on clinical and reflective logs. With periodic virtual/in-person meetings including student mentoring.
- Monitor student clinical hours to ensure on track for completion of requirement. Notify course faculty when students not meeting expected clinical performance.
- Communicate to Program Director students in danger of failing on clinical jeopardy in conjunction with JCN course faculty and create plans with program director for remediation with students.
- Notify the Chair and Course Faculty of any problems or concerns with the clinical preceptor and/or clinical site.
- Establish professional relationship with and mentoring of students assigned. Maintain ongoing communications with students Chair and Course Faculty.
- Facilitate completion of student evaluations by clinical preceptors.
- Grade and provide feedback on case studies and SOAP notes as designated in course syllabi.
