Position Summary

The Event Crew Member is primarily responsible for the changeover in the assigned location(s) from one event to another. Additionally you may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance to include painting trash disposal exterior facility care snow removal furniture moving etc. This responsibility requires physical labor and heavy lifting and therefore has lifting requirements. This is a vital component of the venue in responding to the needs of promoters and clients a positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00.

About the Venue

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a versatile multi-building facility that serves the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas. It hosts a wide array of events such as athletic competitions cultural arts showcases concerts theater performances educational activities fairs exhibits as well as public and private gatherings including conventions convocations trade shows and consumer shows. It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy. The Complex is made up of nine venues the largest being the renowned 22000-seat Greensboro Coliseum which has a storied history of hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships and a concert history featuring legendary artists like Paul McCartney Garth Brooks and Phish as well as todays biggest artists like Drake Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift. The Complex also includes the 167000-square foot Special Events Center encompassing three exhibition halls a 4500-seat mini-arena and eight meeting rooms. Additionally theres White Oak Amphitheatre Piedmont Hall the Novant Health Fieldhouse Greensboro Aquatic Center The Terrace ACC Hall of Champions and the 300-seat Odeon Theatre.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
  • Setting-up and tearing down flooring chairs barricades staging tables and other furnishings and equipment.
  • Responding to promoter/clients needs as directed.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Assist when necessary with pre/post event cleaning.
  • Meet the physical demands of this job which include being able to get in and around the facility walking the entire shift bending lifting carrying moving climbing working from various heights and moderate to loud noises.
  • Maintain outside grounds including parking areas entrances event plaza and snow removal as required.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed such as painting patching and other conversion related operational equipment
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks forklifts scissor lifts or other light power equipment. Training and certification .
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments clients and patrons encountered in the course of employment.
  • Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedule to produce accurate results.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must possess the ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. Work flexible shifts including nights overnights weekends and holidays depending on event schedule.

  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of event change over experience.
  • Ability to work under deadlines driven by event schedules and project timetables.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
