The University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is accepting applications for an Athletic Training Program core faculty memberfor the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (SPT&RS) within the Morsani College of Medicine to begin Summer 2026.

This is a 12-month full-time (1.0 FTE) on-site faculty position available as either tenured or non-tenured and will remain open until filled. This existing position reports to the Athletic Training Program Director and will have responsibilities related to teaching research and service. The primary teaching role will be in our CAATE accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training program. Faculty rank and salary are highly competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The mission of the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (SPT&RS) is to Move Lives Forward through the education of students in an inclusive educational research and clinical environment that embraces community innovation discovery knowledge expertise leadership collaboration and partnerships. SPT&RS is comprised of expert faculty and staff who support our education research and clinical missions. Our faculty includes licensed athletic trainers and physical therapists who are educators researchers clinicians and leaders in their respective professions. For information regarding USF Health please visit our website at: Morsani College of Medicine includes the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences Physician Assistant Program and Medical Education and Graduate Education Programs. The school includes the Athletic Training Program Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program and Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. The DPT professional program enrolls approximately 50 students per class each year and is ranked in the top 35 programs per the US News and World USF Athletic Training Program was the first AT program to be housed in a College of Medicine and currently has one of the largest and most diverse student populations in the country. The schools research mission generates over $5M in funded extramural research.

Responsibilities
  • The faculty member will be expected to participate in other activities for the educational program including but not limited toadditionalinstructionaleffort()facultymeetingsandserviceattheuniversitystate district and national levels.
  • ResponsibletoaChairorotherappropriatehigher-leveladministratorofaStateuniversity.
  • Responsible for teaching research service and related administrative activities.
  • Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
  • May represent the university college/school or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.



Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctoral (i.e. PhD EdD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active BOC certification and current (or eligible for) Florida Athletic Training licensure .
  • Desire to teach in area of expertise.
  • Must meet University criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with teaching in an accredited Athletic Training program clinical experience as an Athletic Trainer and service to theprofession.
  • Experiencewithtechnologysupportededucationalmethods()interprofessionaleducation and creative teaching and assessment methods
  • can include publications presentations and/or equivalent.
